Stop killing people for having ideas, please.

09/13/25

I've spent the better part of half my life advocating for peoples right to say whatever they want. I don't believe in the idea that someone should be killed because they said something controversial. Charlie Kirk was a jackass with bad opinions. He lived in a country where he had the explicit right to express those opinions.I know almost nothing about him beyond the fact that he made money arguing with teenagers. I don't care who he was, frankly. I care that he was killed over his opinions. I'm offended by the very concept of that. I shouldn't have to refer to another human being in the past tense because of words. I could have gone my whole life never paying attention to this guy, and been better for it, had he not been killed.

Obviously, nothing good came of Charlie Kirks murder. A man is now dead, his wife a widow, his children without a father, and his opinions legitimized in the minds of those that followed him. It doesn't matter what the actual truth is because the kind of people that would listen to him aren't the kind of people that think critically or care about the truth. That's not a criticism, that's just how it is. They were listening to him because he validated the views they hold. That's it. He lent legitimacy to a lot of views that I think are horrible, but again, it's only truly legit if the majority accepts it as such. Obviously, we don't. yet, now those very same people that are entirely opposed to everything he said have to come out and mourne him because it's a huge deal that he died. It's a tragedy for our country, in fact.

Clearly, I'm not advocating for his views so much as I'm telling you right here and now that you don't stand to gain anything from silencing people. To attempt to do so is foolish, and only legitimizes whatever you're attempting to silence. You rob innocent people of their family members, and for what? Because your feelings got hurt? Get the fuck out of my face with that bullshit. These public speakers often tell you exactly when and where they'll be, which is perfect for both people who want to see them and people who want to avoid them. If you're pissed off because you're seeing so and so on the internet, get off the internet! That's all there is to it. None of this is difficult. I hated Nancy Grace when she was on TV. She's a dickhead. Somehow, whenever her face appeared on my TV, the channel would change. I'm not going to sit around watching someone I dislike. That's stupid, and if you're doing it, you're stupid too. Go outside, help your community, love your family, treat your neighbors with kindness and respect.

Anything but this stupid fucking nonsense that's been going on lately.
